International Relations

The National customs agency works on various projects financed by the EU Phare programme. These projects fulfill the priorities and goals connected to country's Membership in the EU. Bulgaria participates in the EC programmes "Customs 2007" and "Fiscalis 2007". The Customs administration actively takes part in the work of the bodies of the World customs organization (WCO); the programme of WCO for Regional intelligence liaison office (RILO) and the Customs enforcement network (CEN). The bulgarian customs administration participates also in various forms of struggle against the trans-border criminality. Within the frameworks of the bilateral agreements Bulgaria co-operates in the customs area with more than 15 countries of various regions of the world. Especially active are the contacts with the neighbour customs administrations.
